Great Wee Strobe Torch
By Stephen on 06 Apr. 2013
I bought one of these strobes after a catastrophic failure of my primary and secondary torch, on a dive in my usual cold, Scottish habitat and I now have a tertiary light source that's every bit as good as my backup..! In fact, I took it to Egypt and used it as a primary torch and it was great. Easily attaches to your bcd (or you can use the lanyard if you're using it as a primary). Other manufacturers make almost identical models and given the great value of the Ndiver version I wonder why folk would pay double for another brand..? I have a larger more powerful strobe that I also use occasionally, but given the torch functionality why would I enter the water without it..?
Fantastic Strobe Torch and Great Service
By Andy Tucke on 17 Apr. 2012
I had Northern Divers old version of this strobe&torch unit for years and found it to be an excellent product but the strobe part was sometimes a bit intermittent in water less than 5 degrees. However, after speaking to AL Wright at the London dive show this year, he explained that this new strobe torch has had a 2013 makeover. It now includes a more advanced magnetic switch, a much brighter single 1w LED on the torch side and an uprated strobe unit, specifically re-designed to work at lower temperatures, after some similar feedback from other divers. On the strength of this and the fact that I have personally trusted Northern Diver diving equipment for years, I bought one each (there and then) for myself and my wife. After testing them both this week in Stoney Cove, Northern Diver have indeed done what AL explained. Both strobes functioned perfectly at 4 degrees and the torch part is now much more useable for reading gauges etc. I thought my wife’s had failed at just over 30m (on the Hydrobox) but on comparing opinions on these new strobes post dive, she explained that she had simply switched hers from strobe to torch to check her gauges, as it had got dark at that depth.. She was indeed as happy as I was with this new inception of their strobe&torch and it has now become a essential part of our regular dive equipment. Thanks Northern Diver. We both love your dive kit and it is great to see that you are re-designing and upgrading your dive equipment, on the strength of diver feedback. Full marks from us.

A very good strobe unit

I have several of these now and am very happy with them. They represent good value and at the price you can afford to keep a spare! I did have a problem with one of them but a quick phone call to ND and they put things right immediately The reason I keep returning to ND is their good value products and what is among the best customer service I have ever had. A place can stock everything on the planet, but it's the customer service that makes it a success. Well done ND!

Great customer service kept me up to date with delivery info. Really good price would definitely buy direct again. Bought an LED torch strobe for half the price of some of the retailers

I bought the strobe/mini torch for my float when I go sea swimming, the order was with me in a few days which is what I expected. The strobe light is pretty good for its price and gives a decent flash, I also have a Mares strobe/torch which is brighter and better, but it is 3 times the price of the Northern Diver.
